Mango Sticky Rice

Breakfast at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport
Not exactly my idea of a proper breakfast, but my craving for this delightful dish turned out to be the choice of the first meal for the day. I vaguely remember a few years back when I was introduced to this Thai dish, I turned the offer down as I could not imagine mixing a savoury cooked glutinous rice with a fruity mango. Adding coconut milk as a topping simply translate the entire dish to a nightmare; that's was what I thought then.

Fast forward sometime later, I tried the same dish out of curiosity and I was taken aback - the combination tasted heavenly! I am amazed at how the Thai managed to develop such a beautiful dish without much fuss and decoration.

The latte was a bad choice, but I needed my caffine for the morning like usual. Glutinous rice is not easily digestible and coffee does not make things better. I'll have to give more thought to my drink when I have the mango sticky rice next.

Can't wait to return to Siam to have my favourite dish again. :)

Vehicle Inspection

So my convertible is finally 3 years old and has to have its maiden inspection by the transport authority for road worthiness.

Sent the car to a local authorised inspection centre just within a 5 minutes drive from my office and the following activities took place:

Resistant testing for the front brakes.

Testing for the rear brakes.

Checking for wheel alignment & CO2 emission level.

Checking for headlamps alignment.

Result: Inspection Passed! And I am 65 bucks poorer...

AMTT Seminar in Chiang Mai

And so I was invited to speak at the Association of Medical Technologist of Thailand Seminar on 25 April 2012 in the beautiful northern province of Thailand. The one thing I dislike about business trip is that I never get to explore any place that I travelled to; it's always about completing the mission and getting my butt back home to catch up with work. Even though my expenses are paid for by the host, it's always hard to stay longer than necessary as I may be seen as abusing my privilege. Here's a group picture after I had delivered my lecture:

Pepper & I

Pepper is a hyperactive dog, especially when he is in his prime age now. It was a rare opportunity to be able to camwhore with him and not having him jumping all over me. Grrrr.....
